The Progressive magazine recently held a three-day conference to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1924 third-party presidential campaign of Wisconsin Senator Robert La Follette….The long-time progressive Republican didnʻt come close to winning the election, but according to some commentators, he did have an impact on national politics….University of Montana History Professor Richard Drake was one of the featured speakers at the conference….He spoke with KPFA weekend news anchor David Rosenberg about La Folletteʻs campaign as well as about other progressive thinkers who influenced him and those who were inspired by him.
